Cheese making dates back to Egypt. The First Dynasty to be exact. Domty is the most popular cheese today. Mostly pigeon, chicken, and lamb are used in Egypt. Beef and lamb are used mostly for grilling. Tea is the national drink and beer is the most popular alcoholic beverage.
Dishes
The national dish of Egypt is Kushari. This is a mixture of rice, lentil, and macaroni.
Ful medames is also a popular dish. This is a stew cooked of fava beans and is usually served with vegetable oil, cumin, and topped with parsley, garlic, onion, lemon juice, chili pepper, and other spices.
A popular dessert is Babousa which is like cake. The cake is soaked in syrup and topped with almonds and cut into diamond pieces.
